More info:

Teune is an experienced yoga instructor and massage practitioner from
Belgium. He has been studying Yoga for over a decade, and has been
teaching classes to a large following for over 7 years. He regularly
resides with his teachers in India and Thailand to practice Ashtanga
Yoga Mysore-style and traditional Thai Massage. Teune loves that both
forms share a common ancient origin, traceable along the lineages of
the great yoga masters and the Buddha to the very distant past of
human existence. You will stay at the family compound of his Thai
teacher, Homprang Chaleekanha. A green garden oasis surrounds this
picturesque school and guesthouse, located just south of Chiang Mai.

Classes will be in English and Dutch.

Teune doing his own daily self-practice at Baan Hom Samunphrai, April 3rd, 2015.

The program

6:30-8:00 Ashtanga Yoga practice

Beginners: you will be taught in a
small group. By the end of the retreat you will be more fluid with the
primary sequences.

Non-beginners: practitioners who are familiar with Primary Series will
be assisted further in their self-practice.

8:00-9:30 Breakfast & Break

9:30-12:00 Philosophy workshop series:”Is today’s Ashtanga practice
truly Patanjali’s Yoga?” You will be introduced to Patanjali’s Yoga
Sutra’s with an overview at glance of the four chapters. This summary
will clarify the incentive (why?), the objective (what?) and the
method (how?) of Patanjali’s classical teaching. We will look at the
Ashtanga system as taught by the Jois family of Mysore (India). The
three pilars (Trishthana) of this modern tradition are Posture
(Asana), Breathing and Gazing point (Drishti). Does steady application
of these three familiar techniques in your regular practice embody
Patanjali’s liberation teaching? Is your effort on the mat possibly an
internal road to freedom?

12:00-13:00 Lunch

13:00-14:00 Thai Yoga (Rasidaton). An authentic, gentle Yoga
developped by the ancient forest hermits (Rishis) used by Thai massage
therapists

14:00-15:00 clinics on refining the technique of Primary Series, and
guided breathing

15:00-17:30 Free time or exploring the area together

17:30-18:30 Herbal steam bath

19:00 Dinner

20:30 Open Meditation
